Erin McCarty

Erin McCarty is an 18-year-old Creative Writing major at Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pennsylvania. She commutes to school and lives at home while honing her skills to become a successful writer.

She has written several short stories, poems, short plays (including two musicals) and two novels, with other works in progress. Erin enjoys reading, playing the piano, and taking long walks in the creek with her dog Sandy. She also collects stamps, coins, and trolls and has a special place in her heart for Winnie the Pooh.

Erin's active imagination, sparked by her love of books, keeps the creative juices flowing. Her favorite book is THE HOBBIT, which she first read at age six. She has been telling stories since she was two and writing them since she could manipulate a pencil. Erin has always had the encouragement of those closest to her, particularly her parents.

Her love of nature and a spiritual relationship with God, as well as family and friends, are a great source of inspiration to her and her writing efforts. Erin's dream is to go to Ireland some day to visit the land of her ancestors. Then she plans to hop over to England and visit Winnie the Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood!
