the story is fine the way doestoevsky wrote it. to say the book is too long is not the first observation you should look for. as for the big words, you may want to have a dictionary next to you while you read it so you can look up the words as well as add to your lexicon. as for the pictures, i don't believe he had that in mind when writing the book. if you want something simply, you may want to stick with "the little that could"
