When I was 15, I was baptized into a pentacostal congregation.
I learned one bible lesson every week. Although I felt the lessons
were true to Christianity, I left after one year because I disliked
the atmosphere and thinking behind the church itself, but not
Christianity. But in the year that I was there, they taught me
that for a book to be considered holy scripture (or divinly inspired)
it could not dispute any other part of what is already considered
holy christian scripture. I believe the Tao Te Ching does not.
I believe it holds truly profound christian advice (especially
for something concieved 600 years prior to the time of Christ!)
MAN'S SUFFERING
Lau Tzu teaches that all man's suffering is caused from deviation
of the natural way. The bible teaches that all man's suffering is
caused by sin. What is sin? What is original sin?
There are two elements to sin as Christians define it: Perversion
and Decay. Perversion, because Satan warps what would otherwise be
a perfect, Godly creation. Decay because the cause of death (and
mortality in general) is the curse of sin.
Original sin is When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge
and were set aside from the animals.
gotta go! I'll be back!
