Jesus backed this up by miracles such as resurrecting Lazarus but also by prophecy where he said not ont one stone of temple will reamin, and lo and behold in ~70 AD titus leveled Jerusalem. John 20:28 - Here Thomas doubts Jesus' divintiy but then touches his wounds and declares" My Lord and My God" if this is not true why doesn't Jesus rebuke Thomas as he did to Peter so often? It is because he is God and even his enemies new it, his miracles substantiate it and historiology can not refute it. It saddens me that Islam picks and chooses portions of the Old testament that suit its purposes and even then distorts the text. I'll back this up at a later time. I pray that our El Elohim, our Christ the King enlightens our Islamic brothers to the truth. History shows that Mohamed was indoctrinated by the Arian and Nostic ideas in his travels as a merchant, he never got the real picture and consequently, Islam is that hodge podge of mixed theology so prevelant in mohameds day. I do not hate Muslims but I hate they oppression that follows it, even its clerics misinterpret that poor book and shar'ah is a second inquisition.
