Hell will not be destroyed. If you look at Matthew 25:31-46, it says unrighteous people will be sent to ETERNAL PUNISHMENT, but righteous people will have ETERNAL LIFE. To be righteous, one must believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved from hell. Therefore, the works listed the chapter are not done for salvation, but done out of pure joy to show your faith in Jesus. Things like offering drink, feeding the hungry, providing clothes to the needy, looking after the sick, visiting prisons, welcoming strangers... All such things are important in showing your faith in Jesus which is why Jesus says in verse 40, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me."
