Hi, I'm in grade eleven and I have to do a 500 word ignment on 'Ode to Autumn'. I came online to see what information I could find out about it, but stumbled on this site and decided I would write my opinion of the poem in the hope that it will help someone in some way.
The poem was written by John Keats who died young but many said he could have been better than John Keats. The poem 'Ode to Autumn' was considered the most perfect poem ever written.
The poem is written in the form of "ABABCDEDCCE".
The first verse deals with the fruits of autumn, how the summer is continueing in a subdued interlude before the begginning of winter. The fruits are all growing ready to harvest.
The second verse is about how autumn is a bit harder but I think it is about how relaxing autumn is and how the ours seem to p slowly in warmth and happiness.
The third verse talks about the noises of autumn, how as the sun sets, the animals, birds and insects farewell one of the few days of the perfect autumn.
Thats my opinion, calala_red
