it's possible that nearly everything a slave does is determined by necessity, ie forces outside their control. this realm of events, inluding human relationships, that we(slaves), can usually only accept, can be seen as the realm of the "father" god. one has a strong image of it in the biblical story of which simone gave a lot of attention to. but the christ brings the possibility of change, change through self transformation. this self transformation does not preclude outer, even political, activity but it is the inner change(metanoia) which is that which is essentially christian. simone concerned herself with one of plato's stories, of "the just man" to exemplify what is important here.And christ sent "the comforter", the holy spirit.
