It's a poetic image: everything that lives is in the image of God.
My question is: What does this three-dimensional, living "map" of God tell us? What information does it provide about the world? "Maps" are supposed to be useful. How is it useful to conceive of life as a map? I know it would yield a feeling of religious reverence--but what insights would be gained that could improve my navigation in or knowledge of the world, just as a map would help me get around a city?

You might be interested in the "OS 012 - internet dialectic" thread in this forum that Bubblefish started on Nov 23 '03. It regards a theory, briefly outlined on the website http://www.highintelligence.com, that focuses on a distinction between "true/false/mysterious" and on objective and subjective realities. I don't really understand what it's about but I'd like to hear more people's interpretations.
