The problem is not that some people read Derrida, but that that some people _belive_ Derrida. We are near the nadir (in my opinion) of the collapse of the morals of Western Culture (don't believe it? tell me when the last significant Western leader even managed to maintain a fig leaf of morality greater than "don't get caught"?).
Deconstruction, as such, leads to dissolution. Really, since everything can be deconstructed to pointlessness, what's the point of ethics, or hope or meaning in life?
More to the point, Humanity has seen this before in the Sophists, with the claim that one can really know nothing and thereby never be sure of anything. Result? Collapse of the unity of Greek culture and eventual Roman conquest (of course you can and do know something! Direct Experience).
All this boils down to the pointlessness of existensialism (and for that we can really see it coming to fruition with Engels and Dialectical Materialism) and the _terror_ of self delusion.
Deconstruction is based in this, as a misapprehension of the impermanence of material existence. What one needs to "deconstruct" is one's beliefs and dogmas that obstruct Direct Experience.
