Don't buy the rope! It may be expensive to buy new, but you should not trust your life to such a critical piece of climbing gear unless you know precisely how much and the type of use it has sustained. Rope manufacturers recommend that even a rope in storage should be retired after about 5 years (due to the natural weakening of the nylon over time) and you can never be certain that the rope was stored under ideal conditions (dry, cool, no sunlight).

Try buying a shorter rope (50m) without the dry treatment or fancy weaves such as duodess to save your coins, but don't trade in your budget for safety.
