: : : hey i am looking arround the market for a good kayak and i came accross inflateable kayaks and i wanted to know if they are strong enough to do cl 2 or 3 white water so if any one knows about this could you e mail me at scottmartineau@rogers.com
: : :
: : : thanx very much
: : scott,
: : Any of the major brands of inflatable kayaks will enable you to do cl 2 & 3 (and will fit in the trunk of a Toyota Corolla at the end of the day). I have an Aire Lynx II which is their tandem IK although I frequently do cl 2 & 3 by myself in the boat. When camping with the family it holds 2 adults, one child and a small dog for afternoons on the lake. Just don't expect them, or any whitewater boat, to track well on flat water. Good luck. s
: I agree, and have been using a seyvor (sp?) inflatable for 6-7 years now. On flat water it definetly waggles back and forth with each stroke and you can end up fighting the wind too. for 80 bucks I've gotten a lot of use out of it both on calm seas and rapids in rivers.
I've had a sevylor for about 10 years. It did not track very well as explained. But I came accross a fellow sevylor user who purchased an optional fin. Now I have little trouble. Just don't go backwards :)
