Dear Little,
If you're in a hurry, as you stated on June 21, I'm probably too late, but in a tiny nutshell, TS Eliot's unique style was wordy without being flowery, and his imagery drew from an amazing array of sources. Look at the footnotes to confirm the diversity. He seemed to have a thing about purple (violet...) and his philophy was his religion, was his life. He was a devout Catholic, and also an expatriate, both of which had major influences in his writing.
What, you don't have cliff notes? Ha!
TS Eliot is one of my two favorite poets, the other being Octavio Paz.
I hope you find more time to devote to studying both the man and his poems.
Sincerely,
Celeste
