hello!
I wanted to post a press release about our upcoming production of T.S. Eliot's "Murder in the Cathedral". If you are in Atlanta, or find yourself there in the next month, stop by our theater and check out the production. We are very excited about this piece. It was last done in this city at Saint Philip's Cathedral. Same director.
Thanks for reading!

The Atlanta Shakespeare Company at The New American Shakespeare Tavern proudly announces
Murder in the Cathedral
By T.S. Eliot
($10 Previews April 10 - 11)
April 12 – May 11, 2003
Directed by Wesley Usher with Original Music by Bryan Mercer
After seeing it at Saint Philip’s Cathedral, we just had to stage it here. The Shakespeare Tavern is proud to bring this sacred piece of theater to The Tavern stage. Set in the shadowy and turbulent times of late 12th Century England, this modern miracle play takes us through the life, murder, and martyrdom of Saint Thomas Becket. Questioning the meaning of one man’s life and the separation of church and state, Murder in the Cathedral ultimately explores the timeless dilemma of knowing, once we ultimately choose, whether we are serving Heaven or Hell. Underscored by Bryan Mercer’s haunting original music, Murder in the Cathedral is a sacred theatrical experience not to be missed.
