"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a large fortune must be in want of a wife." This is the opening sentence for the book P&P. It relates to the book because it describes Mrs. Bennet's way of thinking exactly. She is sure that because Mr. Bingley, or any other man of his consequence for that matter, is single and has a lot of money, he must be looking for a wife. And so she sets out to make one of her daughters Mr. Bingley's wife. Contact me if you have any other questions about the book!
