Read Lysistrata and consider how much influence the women in the play would really have had. the element of ual control they excercised was obviously significant enough for Aristophanes to create a satirical play about it. Also Aristophanes is highlighting the behavior of these women compared to what was expected of a Greek woman as set out by Plato.The fact that the women take over the acropolis is significant as women played a key role in the religious activity of Athens. Also look at the way the women are treated by the men in the play, particularly the older chorus members. The dialogue between the magistrate and these women is particularly effective for demonstrating the issues of respect for women in Athens.
