Umm...Mozart didn't die in 1771, he died in 1791. Sussmayer did not entirely finish the Requiem. Sussmayer only composed the instrumentation for Lacrymosa's measures 9-30 where from meausures 9-10 was the work of Joseph Eyble. However Mozart's widow Costanze was quite unsure who she truly wanted to complete this composition. She wasn't too particular letting Sussmayer complete this piece, she only wanted the best and wasn't sure if Sussmayer was the best.
