Hello,
I write from Milan, Italy.
Forgive me for my very bad english.
I would like to create an html page dedicated to english composers in my country.
Unfortunately, english composers are not so much known in Itlay, and it is obviously a pity.
I know several things about them, having heard music such as "go from my window", "the cries of London" and several others cd of the XVII century, including My Ladie nevell's book.
Is there any person in this site who is able to help me by furnishing a short summerized page about William Byrd, which I consider a wonderful composer?
I'd like to know information such as: religious belief, biography, musical features and so on.
I will translate them in italian and put on the web.
For example a short choice of his most famous compositions wuold be appreciated.
Thank you for all You will be able to do to realize this probabliy strange idea.
Roberto Meloni
Post scriptum: which is your opinion about "salinger's Round"? It is true what Glenn Gould said, i.e. that in this piece there is the first example of tonal music ever wrote?
Thanks.
