Hi!
I am doing genealogical research, and have been
lucky enough to trace my paternal and maternal lines
back to the 14 and 1500's.
What I would like to find out is if there is a connection
with Anna Maria Schumann and Robert Schumann. Anna married Johann Peter Wambold
July 23rd, 1678. They lived in Zwingenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt
Germany......One of the reasons this is so important to me is because
I am a professional musician, and I have three children who are all musicians as well.
I'm a cellist, my son is a violinist, my daughter a cellist and my oldest son a trombonist.
I also play the trumpet....for fun in a 22pc. British Style Br Band that I manage...I also give private lessons (a few, I mostly perform)..and my children are gifted.
I was surprised to read Anna Schumanns name in my family tree. I know that mothers sometimes
are not objective about their children, but I took my children out of school so that
they could study music....they are all doing exceptionally well. (My 13 yr old son is about to
perform Zigunerweisen by Sarasate and plays the Bach Sonatas and Partitias....and is so excited
because his teacher told him that Pagannini's Caprices are next....
For fun he fiddles....he has won several championships including US NorthEast Scottish
Championships.....my daughter (11) is extremely talented as well, she knows all of the clefs,
and plays in all of the positions....and her vibrato is to die for. (Both are traditionally trained
not Suzuki) and my son plays the trombone....he has a natural ability, and learns fast but is not as intense.
We are kind of like the Von Traps(sp?) where we live. We perform as a family....we will be producing a CD
within the next year or so.....
When I saw Anna Schumann's name as my several
greats grandmother....I was excited.
If anyone knows how I can find this out....I would be grateful..Thanks Maryjane
