: : Hey i'm doing a report on the tuba, and i was just wondering, did richard wagner invent the tuba?

:
: the Wagner tuba, a lighter more agile type with a bent bell, a cousin of the cornet, used for sustained & augmented sound

:Actually, the Wagner tuba is a relative of both the French horn and the tuba. There are both tenor Wagner tubas, pitched in Bb, and bes, pitched in F. They are indeed smaller than tubas, and they are played with a French horn mouthpiece.
