: WPBS Channel 2, (South Florida) ran a two hour program on December 2000 : "Mahler's Beethoven" about Mahler's orchestation of Beethoven's Ninth complete with a performance by the Detroit Symphony conducted by Naeme Jarvi. Gorgeous! Try contacting the Detroit Symphony Site, it probably has one and presumably can give you information on this matter.

Greetings
I have a recordin of Mahler's wonderful arrangement of Beethoven's String Quartet in F minor Op. 95 as well as Shubert's exquisite String Quartet in d minor D.810 otherwise known as the 'Death and the Maiden' which was recorded by the Moscow Soloists under the direction of Yuri Bashmet which is on the RCA label. It was a real find because I had found it at a Tower outlet which, alas, is no longer in existence. I know that this reply is late but nontheless, I hope that you will still find it to be helpful.
Sincerely,
James Alden
