Greeetings, fellow Mahler admirers:

I discovered this great composer back in August of 1989 where I was working in the classical music section of Tower Records in Mt. View, CA. and it was there where I had first heard his magnificent Third Symphony and in particular the last movement. The recording was done by none other than the late great Leonard Bernstein and to this day I still get chills, to say the least, whenever I listen to this great movement and certainly one of the greatest in all of the symphonic literature. To be quite truthful I have not heard anything more sublime either before or since and that includes the immortal Beethoven to whom we surely owe a great debt since it was he who was and still is one of the few masters of the Adagio.
