According to Alma Mahler's memoirs, this was done for a festival that the Sezession artists put on in May 1902. Apparently the only part arranged was the "Adagio ma non troppo" section of the final movement. Mrs. Mahler says it "rang out as starkly as granite."

I have never heard that it has been published, although his editions of the Schumann symphonies have been performed. It would be interesting to see and hear!

*The Sezession was a group of artists who broke with academic tradition, much as the Impressionists had done in France.
