M is such a wonderful orchestrator that this can sometimes obscure his structural talents, so I think it would be interesting to hear a piano version (as it is, for instance, with 'The Rite of Spring').
6th and 7th have been recorded for four-hand piano. The 6th was transcribed by Alexander vn Zemlinsky, the 7th by Alfredo Casella. They are played by Silvya Zenker and Eveline Trenken. Released by Dabringhaus und Grimm, catalogue number MD+G L 3400 (6th) and MD+G L 3445 (7th)
There is also an organ transcription of the 5th....
