try "donna"..... One of the most famous arias
from Verdi's entire repertoire. Opening night
the music was given to the tenor less than two
hours before curtain! Why??? Verdi wanted the
aria known as part of the show, not as a seperate
"Hit" tune. And a "Hit" it was as evident by
the number of "Organ Grinders" playing it on
the streets the next day.
TMI? Oh well... Enjoy!
