: Can anyone out there tell me why Verdi was nicknamed 'The Red Monk'?

I think Vivaldi, not Verdi, was called the Red Monk. He had red hair and was the priest igned to an orphanage in Venice. He taught the orphan girls music and had them perform in concerts at the orphanage.
