Can someone give me a list of nice motets for a 3-part mens' choir? I have no idea where to go, whom to talk to, etc. to find out some neat pieces. See, I am a piano-know-it-all not a motet person.
OK, we are already working on the Palestrina "Pars Mea", and pieces by Byrd, Ravanello, and others.
If only I could find someone who knows as much about this kind of music (i.e. Catholic motets for 3-part mens' choir) as I do about piano music... I don't want to brag, but I would love to tell people about the piano repertory, and pianists, but I really need some advice on what to look for in this kind of music! For instance, has anyone put out any CD's with motets on them? I am not interested in buying a CD, for example, that has "Missae Pro Marcelli" and 1 or 2 motets that maybe are not even what I am looking for at all. Can someone help me?
THANKS SO MUCH! THANK YOU! Can you steer me in the right direction... send me toa web-page, or give me someone's email address.
thanks,
Jeff Ostrowski
