Anyway, do you know of any recordings where the singers or instrumentalists really let themselves go with the ornamentation? In most of the recordings I've heard, the additions and ornamentations have been pretty restrained, even at cadenzas. There are some nice cadenzas in the Academy of Ancient Music's Messiah recording, but otherwise that recording is pretty restrained. Handel, even more than other Baroque masters, needs the additions a fine performer trained in the Baroque style can give his music.
