1st verse (latin):
Ave Maria
Gratia plena
Maria, gratia plena
Maria, gratia plena
Ave, ave Dominus
Dominus tekum
Benedicta tu mulieribus
Et benedictus
Et benedictus fructus ventis
Ventris tuae, Jesus.
Ave Maria
1st verse (english):
Hail Mary
Full of grace
Mary, full of grace
Mary, full of grace
Hail, hail our Lord
Our Lord is with thee
Blessed are you among women
And blessed is
And blessed is the fruit of your womb
Of your womb, Jesus.
Hail Mary
2nd verse (latin):
Ave Maria
Mater Dei
Ora pro nobis peccatoribus
Ora pro nobis
Ora, ora pro nobis peccatoribus
Nunc et in hora mortis
Et in hora mortis nostrae
Et in hora mortis nostrae
Et in hora mortis nostrae
Ave Maria
2nd verse (english):
Hail Mary
Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Pray for us
Pray,pray for us sinners
Now and in the hour of death
And in the hour of our death
And in the hour of our death
And in the hour of our death
Hail Mary
This is a beautiful song taken from Luke 1:28,42-43. The 2nd verse is not from a particular verse, but it is a most moving sentiment. And I am not even Catholic! But all lovers of truth will recognize beauty when they see and hear it.
The highest form of music is putting scripture to music. Gloria Dei!
