The Ave Maria, translated from latin to english is the catholic prayer "Hail Mary"
Let's see the text laid out.....
Ave=Hail
Maria= Maria (or Mary-whichever you prefer)
gratia= grace, favor
plena= full of, satisfied
Dominus=Lord (The Lord)
te=with you
benedicta=blessed, approved of,praised, spoken well of
tu=you
In=in regard to,among,within
mulieribus=woman (this is a understood plural-english)
et=and,also
benedictus=blest
fructus=fruit,crops,produce,reward
ventris=stomach, womb, belly
tui=you,yourself,your (singular)
Jesus=Jesus
Sancta=consecrated,holy,sacred
Maria=Maria
ora=beg,beseech,pray
pro=on behalf of, before,in front of, for
nobis=we,ourselves
Nobis=we, ourselves
peccatoribus=sinner,transgressor
Nunc=now, today, at present
et=and
in=about
hora=hour,time,season
mortis=death,corpse,annihilation
nostrae=our
Because I translated it straight from the latin, it is not in a good 'english' sentence structure and maybe hard to flow while reading. But this is just a language thing....ignore!
The point I'm trying to make is that the other 'english' versions are wrong, this is indeed the Most Sacred prayer of Our Lady....Ave Maria!!!
