One of the best recordings of the piece done on a period harpsichord (the instrument it was written for) is from harmonia mundi (lack of caps on purpose) from France. The cd is titled Les Idees Heureuses, Hommage a Francois Couperin. It is a compilation of various harpsichord pieces by Couperin le Grand (as he is known) and similar pieces by more modern composers and how the similarities are evident in the intonations and rythmic movements. There was also a really good lp recording I heard many years in a boxed set of baroque music produced by TimeLife Music but I haven't seen it in cd format (yet). I am an artist and have had Les barricades..." roaming around in my head for 25+ years and eventually will get a painting out of it (I hope!). Hope this helps!
