"Cadence frigienne" is (for me) when the b line goes I-VII-VI-V in natural minor(for example:A-G-F-E)with the chords that correspond(V must be major)! For me, this is the most beautiful combination of harmonies(sounds so "antique"!). Scarlatti uses it A LOT(no wonder, I'd say that all spanish music is "BASED" on it)! Many composers liked it and used it very much(even Bach!-VERY much)-up to Rachmaninoff!
