: I have a recording of one movement of a piano
: piece by CPE Bach which I love. I would love
: to get a copy of the sheet music so I can learn
: it, but I would not know what to ask for.
: All I know is that it is the adagio movement.
: The melody begins as follows
: (lowercase letters are quarter notes.
: uppercase letters are half notes)
: d-e-g-f#-f#-c#-C# (quarter rest)
: d#-f#-e-e-b-B (quarter rest)
: c#-e-d-d-b(above)-b(below)-c#-c#....
: Does anyone know the name or opus number of this
: piece, or where one could get the sheet music for
: it?
: Rodrigo
The piece you want is the third movement of Bach's Sonata in D major, Helm 245, which is contained in a collection of keyboard music first published in 1779, the first of the Kenner und Liebhaber series. If no music store close to you has this, you might be able to order it by mail from a store in Berlin: Musik Riedel, Uhlandstr.38, 10719 Berlin, Germany. Their fax number is 011 49 30 8832725. You can write to them in English.
