Yes ... the Ravel is the most famous such work, because it deserves to be. It's an amazing piece that has to be heard to be believed ... but don't trust every recording. The work is notoriously difficult, and pianists have been known to cheat in recordings on this work, that is, using some right hand on occasion. The work is quite possible for the left hand, but only with a hand of steel. The overall effect of the piece is devastating, from the low register introduction through the highly complex cadenza.
Prokofiev's Concerto is one of his lesser played, simply because a couple of the two-handed works (and most pianists, face it, have two good hands) hold the ears better. But it is well worth a hearing.
But our earlier respondee forgot about the Concerto by English master Benjamin Britten. For those who know Britten from the operas or the Introduction to the Orchestra variations, the Diversion for Left Hand Piano and Orchestra is a wonderful diversion, well worth the time of the serious classical listener of contemporary British music.
But do not dare die before hearing the Ravel. I recommend Pascal Roge at the keyboard.
