Shreveport Opera Announces:
SINGER OF THE YEAR 2004 COMPETITION
The competition will take place April 3rd and 4th, with rehearsals on April
2nd at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA. Semifinalists will be chosen
based on a preliminary judging of the artist’s performance on a CD or
tape that is submitted with your application. Semifinalists will be
announced March 1st.
Awards include cash prizes and a role in a Shreveport Opera Production.
To be eligible you must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and must have
performed at least one role with a university, summer vocal program, or a
professional opera company. Application fee is $35.00. Please download an
application at www.shreveopera.org. Click on the Singer of the Year link.
Applications must be postmarked by February 16, 2004
