I suspect Boulez is the last. After that, it's mostly the ghastly minimalists and postmodernists I except Ligeti and Birtwhistle. The most advanced art in all fields was in the first part of the 20th century. Where are the Shoenbergs, Bergs, Weberns, Bartoks of today. John Adams?.............................
