Possibly the famous song "Amarilli mia bella" by Giulio Caccini (c.1548-1618). The score is for one vocalist and continuo; one could imagine lute, spinet, and viola da gamba in the continuo and, with a little artistic license, a violin improvising counterpoint.

Was Nicolas Tirnier Spanish? Even if so, "Amarilli" was a popular enough song that it may well have been introduced in Spain during the early 1600's. I suppose one can't read the score within the painting?
