: Is there anybody who really loves Corelli's music?
How could one not? If a person is in love wth Baroque music, and is even modestly familiar with this musical periods most inventive composers (Handel, Albinoni,Bach, Vivaldi, etc. all), and has been exposed to such masterpieces such as Corelli's "la Follia" or his own most favorite project; "Concerto Grossi Op.VI", and then to not be able to appreciate his works, would seem to me anyway, to be rather odd.
: If you are really interested in Corelli's life and music, please, send me a message...
I have been inraptured by Arcengelo's music, as I have other Baroque masters since a plethora of these artists works have appeared "en masse" on CD in the late 1980,s. Personally, I have found that some people when hearing his music, for example, playing in the background of some department store, have remarked that the music has sounded familiar to them, although they can't place it. And that they find it very "pretty". However I don't believe I have encountered any one else with any real knowledge or serious appreciation of his music (perhaps this is a reflection of the people I come in contact with... I hope not anyway). Sadly most believe that they are just listening to "classical music". Or sometimes someone with a little more savvy then others, will remark upon hearing Corelli's music, on how much they love Vivaldi. Even though what they are currently hearing is something from Arcengelo's Op.VI. I don't know whether to find this a sorry commentary on most peoples musical taste, or that my own tastes in music (although very broad in interest), are odd. Mach's Nicht, I suppose. As long as I like it, and I know that a few others do as well. And, that there are scores of CD's available of his music for myself and others to aquire and enjoy. That that is all that should really matter. And, there are far more distressing or fastinating things about others particular tastes in various other catagories to wonder about.
