: I found somewhere a song acredited to Vivaldi entitled "Un certo non so che", a vocal solo with piano accompaniment. I brought the song to my vocal teacher, and she's never seen it before. Can someone please let me know if you have any background info on this song, or tell me of some place which may have the info I'm looking for? Thank you, in advance!
Un certo non so che
Mi giunge e pa il cor,
E pur dolor, non č.
Se questo fosse amor?
Nel suo vorace ardor,
Giā posi incauta,
Posi il pič!

from the Opera Arsilda Regina di Ponto, Venezia 1716, never staged since that, which is a shame as Peter Ryom told me it is, for him, the very best opera of Vivaldi.
From my databse:
ARSILDA, REGINA DI PONTO opera de D.LALLI Premiere au S.Angelo, 1716 Arsilda(AV.Dotti=mezzo), Lisea (AM.Fabri=mezzo), Mirinda (MT.Ca(o)tte=x), Barzane (C.Valcata=X), Tamese (AP.Fabri =Tenor), Cisardo (A.Zannoni=B), Nicandro (A.Pellizzari=soprano) @autograph:Torino,vol. L'aria e:act II, Scena1 "Un certo non so che/Se questo č forse amor"(taken later for the opera Ercole, Roma, 1723, Atto I, sc. 5)
