: Paul~
: I also am singing "Piango, Gemo, Sospiro" by Vivaldi in my senior recital. I also have had trouble finding a translation. The best I've found is translating it word for word at www.FreeTranslation.com, but some words do not translate, and it is nothing close to a poetic translation that I could print in my program notes. If you find anything helpful, I would so much appreciate hearing from you. If any gives you a poetic translation, please inform me if you have the time. My name is Sarah Cupery, and my email address is scupes@hotmail.com. I'm a senior voice major at Wheaton College in Illinois. Thanks!
:
: : I need a translation for a Vivaldi solo cantata for voice
: : It's in italian but i think it's old italian so my 2nd gen CDN italian roommate is of little use.
: : The cantata is entitled "Piango Gemo Sospiro"
: : The text for the movement I'm doing is as follows
: : Pur ch'a te grata sia la mia morte,
: : Ancotacendo go'dro morir.
: : Se non puo farsi mi'glior mia sorte che per quei lumi fedel languir.
: : any istance as soon as possible would be appreciated.
