Ara, I am not disappointed by the Romantic Symphony DVD, and I hope that they make more DVDs using Bruckner's music. I would rather watch a DVD with scenery than watch a concert performance by itself, and I have on VHS the Celibidache #6-7-8 and Karajan #9. In the Yahoo! Club Bruckner forum there was some discussion last year about what kind of images Bruckner's music conjures up in the minds of listeners, and this is what I was referring to--the completely subjective experience of the individual imagination that no producer of a DVD can hope to meet the expectations of! I give credit to the Romantic Symphony DVD producer for trying to utilize Bruckner's program, especially in the 1st and 3rd movements, perhaps even with the crowd scenes in the last movement ("Volkfest.") I encourage every Brucknerian to support this DVD project by buying the Romantic Symphony DVD, and using the registry card that comes with it (to be informed of future releases in the DVD series) to request more Bruckner DVDs! --Warren
