If you're idea of Bruckner, or any composer for that matter, runs along the lines of Chailly, Haitink, and the like, then by all means, this is a performance be perfect for you. No fear of getting a heart attack listening to any of these champions of DULL.

However, if you really want to hear what's in the score, especially if you've studied it and you understand what Bruckner was about (after all, he didn't venerate Wagner for nothing, and he didn't score those br instruments just so Grandma wouldn't be unduly disturbed, and he didn't improvise on some of the most mive Romantic organs in existence just to provide a nice easy-listening background for wimpy boys scarred of
FORTISSIMO), then you'll find this Guilini performance a dull affair that misses all key points of the Bruckner style:

1. No spirituality
2. No mive grandure
3. No 19th century authenticity

My advise? Get the Karajan. And get your kicked by the real Bruckner, not some latter-day wimp version there-of
