"Ara, I forgot that you are in Canada, and that the prices of things in Canadian dollars are much higher than in the US."

Warren, here are some typical price samples in Montreal:
We are fortunate and enjoy low prices on classical CD's - where the average prices of remastered or reissues like DG "originals", Decca's "Legends" and EMI's "great recordings of the century" series typically goes for between 12.99 to $14.99 cdn dollars (that's 8 to $10 U.S. dollars with the exchange rate of $1U.S.=$1.55 cdn!). Universal's eloquence and EMI budgets series (in competition with Naxos and Art Nova) is only $6.99 or 3 for $20 bucks! New releases - often going on sale, goes for $17.99 cdn (or $12U.S.!)- including Wand's recent BPO series - before his (unfortunate) sudden death. Of late however, that has changed. RCA is blatantly overcharging those wanting Wand's recordings now.
When i worked in U.S. back in 98-99 in Phoenix, Az. i remember prices being the "same amount", however in U.S. dollars! I don't know if that's true today throughout the U.S.
Got to run now... later.
Ara
