Don't know much about him, will check it out at our HMV megastore in downtown Montreal of Kurt Eichhorn's version (whatever, if any available). Any particular one in mind? I know that among the 6th is your favorite Bruckner symphony ( mine too - along with most for that matter depending on "emotional desires" at the time of course) - Hopefully, i'll be able to have the opportunity for some feedback on this.
Earlier this week, saw Wand's older (re-issue - packaged to look like a new version) recording of his 8th with NDR for... get this...$60! no kidding! I really don't know what RCA is up to!

...and yet, his music speaks volumes...enough to fill an encyclopedia set. Too bad!

I missed that one (don't know how) - hopefully will see a revised and updated version since many recording have since appeared.
Warren, the Grammophone review of Wand's latest 8th was very good except for his last movement which says does not hold well together (paraphrasing here) and is weak. Like to have your thoughts on it if possible since you already have the recording. My Favorite of the 8th is Karajan's amazingly clear 1958 stereo recoding on EMI (with BPO), and his later, 1989 DG with the Vienna - along with Giulini's.
