Of course I'm familiar with the copyright music laws. I am new to the internet and just wasn't thinking clearly when I posted this message! I was just so surprised to find all these Bruckner sites on the internet, including this one with a message board [Bruckner is my favorite composer]. This was very stupid of me!
I will probably order this set from Sonarte, and would like some info from anybody who already has this in their collection. Could you provide me with the Timings for the four movements of the 1873 version of the Bruckner 3rd? I'm particular interested in the timing of the First Movement, because I find Inbal on Teldec too slow and lacking understanding of the structure of this music; he is much better in the following movements.
The only "original versions" of Bruckner symphonies for me, are the FIRST VERSIONS [ie. First Concept], and I find these consistently more interesting, logical and exciting than the "diluted" reworked versions! The third version of the third symphony is an absolute atrocity! I even prefer the "stop and go" scherzo of the 1874 fourth symphony superior to the popular counterpart in the 1878/80 version, and I find the final coda in the fourth movement from 1874 to be absolutely HAIR RAISING!!! Does anyone else agree with me?
Any info that can be provided would be very appreciated. And thanks for providing Sonarte's web address. At this point, I would never have known how to go about finding it.
