Thanks! I had already realized that the Corydon Singers record was great even without any comparison. I'll have to check out Celibidache's Te Deum and compare it with Bruno Walter's fine 1953 recording, which I have.
I was less satisfied with the Welser-Moest recording of the F minor and Te Deum. The orchestra was fine, and the chorus was fine, but the orchestra overwhelmed the chorus on the climaxes.
Yes, the entire E minor M is wonderful! As you say, each movement is like one of his symphonies by itself, and the Kyrie, Sanctus, Benedictus, and Agnus Dei each have a haunting beauty all their own, truly timeless--they could as easily have been written in the 16th or 21st century.
