Did I say it was good? But it was one of the few live performances of Bruckner I've heard. Actually, one of the reasons why I rarely go to concerts is the fear of inept handling of the great work by ... That time, I decided to go. And still, it's better than nothing, isn't it?
I admire B's Requiem (also Corydon/Best). I was afraid to be disappointed by an "early" work, but... It is really early, and something different from the Te Deum style , but it's wonderful. This music is tender and sincere.
My recording of the motets is with Martin Flaemig. As for Best, are the singers the same as in Requiem? IMHO, the boys' choir (as Dresdner Kreuzchor) is more appropriate for Bruckner's motets than a mixed one.
