Bruckner's music is highly infectious. Once in your system, it will instill in your genes - permanently i'm afraid! To begin this process, start with his most accessible, 'popular symphonies' (as the saying goes) - the Romantic symphony (#4), then try his magnificent #7 - for which Bruckner was finally recognized for as a great symphonist (talk about perseverance!). After these, you might like to try his magisterial 8th, the monumental 9th - the unfinished symphony, his mive 5th (Karajan's 1977 version that is - avail. only through a set), his glorious 6th symphony (that 2nd movement - possibly B's best), his 2nd and 3rd and then 1st. If you read the posts below, it might be useful and provide you with some insights as well as entertainment (pionate discussions). Who you choose as a recording - is another, touchy issue here. Again, read some of the posts below for further insights. Bruckner's music is alive and well in many parts of the world.
