Warren, I never umed or implied: >>>"(just because I prefer certain recordings of the Sixth Symphony does not mean that I prefer the way in which each and every movement of the Symphony is performed in that recording!)"<<< and regret if i
left that impression.
>>>"No doubt I am influenced in my preference for the Klemperer recording"<<<
I understand.... Just like Karajan's "sound" has infected me in many ways...
>>>"...it is not only the first Bruckner Sixth I ever heard, but the first Bruckner I ever heard."<<<
Funny you say Klemperer... because the very first Bruckner i ever heard was Klemperer's Romantic symphony (EMI) on vinyl and yes, it did leave a big impression on me as well - especially the Scherzo!
Warren, had it not been the 6th and, but rather another Bruckner symphony, say the mive 5th or the easygoing 1st, would your pion for Bruckner be different today, if at all?
