collage is a common art form. Not that its common, but there are plenty of artists who use this technique. There might be fewer of them than painters and sculptors. But if you look at warhol, he, in a sense, made collage. Silk screening popular celebrities. He also took their photos and drew on them. That's something you could try.

I find it hard to get real creative with someone else's photos, but thats my preference. But on the funny side, you could say, I perfer to crumple other's photos up and then use them.
