Oil on canvas is an accurate description. If you want to know the specific kind of oil paint, or the type of canvas he used, or even the mediums he may have used to enable the oil paint to flow more smoothly... well, I don't know. Maybe someone has that information, but probably not. Most artists have a conglomeration of "stuff" in their studios and they throw together what appeals to them at the time. I can't tell the date posted when you were doing this project, but I would think that you are looking information that is too specific. Oil on canvas refers to oil paint plus turpentine or oil, or some other medium on canvas (which is fabric...like the canvas of shoes, or maybe some types of pants). The canvas may have been prepurchased and therefore prepared by someone else, or Pico may have sized the fabric with gesso or hyde glue and marble dust.
